Ijournal entry 100917 #40. October, Month of The Holy Rosary. The Rule of St. Benedict. Quotes by St. Thomas Aquinas, Rev. William G. Most, and The Catechism of Trent. Catholic Trivia Confession Quiz. Tractates on the Gospel of John: "TRACTATE 67", by St. Augustine of Hippo. Audio presentation: "Refurbishing the Soul", Episode 8, by Babsie Bleasdell.
"The purpose of the rosary is to help us meditate on the great mysteries of our salvation. Pius XII called it a compendium of the gospel. The main focus is on Jesus—his birth, life, death, and resurrection. The Our Fathers remind us that Jesus’ Father is the initiator of salvation. The Hail Marys remind us to join with Mary in contemplating these mysteries. They also make us aware that Mary was and is intimately joined with her Son in all the mysteries of his earthly and heavenly existence. The Glory Bes remind us that the purpose of all life is the glory of the Trinity. The rosary appeals to many. It is simple. The constant repetition of words helps create an atmosphere in which to contemplate the mysteries of God. We sense that Jesus and Mary are with us in the joys and sorrows of life. We grow in hope that God will bring us to share in the glory of Jesus and Mary forever." Info from Franciscan Media
The Rule of St. Benedict
"The fourth degree of humility is that meeting in this obedience with difficulties and contradictions and even injustice, he should with a silent mind hold fast to patience, and enduring neither tire nor run away, for the Scripture saith:
"The fourth degree of humility is that meeting in this obedience with difficulties and contradictions and even injustice, he should with a silent mind hold fast to patience, and enduring neither tire nor run away, for the Scripture saith:
And again:
And showing how the true disciple ought to endure all things, however contrary, for the Lord, it saith in the person of sufferers:
Then, confident in their hope of the divine reward, they go on with joy to declare:
And again in another place the Scripture saith:
And to show that we ought to be under a superior, it goeth on to say:
Moreover, in adversities and injuries they patiently fulfil the Lord’s commands: when struck on one cheek they offer the other, when robbed of their tunic they surrender also their cloak, when forced to go a mile they go two, with the apostle Paul they bear with false brethren, and they bless those that curse them"
MC= How simple, yet complex, but when we are in love with God, abiding in Christ, docile to the Holy Spirit, in union with the will of the Father, we will be able to live the following scripture, no and's, if's, or but's. May we response to grace and simply and humbly surrender all.

🌏 "The more one will be united to God the happier will one be". By St. Thomas Aquinas
🍑 "Pope Benedict XII defined that when we see God, there is no image at all in between Him and us. How can that be? St. Thomas Aquinas made the obvious addition: If there is no image, then God must join Himself directly to our intellect to do the work of an image. That really is seeing "face to face". Now, this sort of vision is possible only for a creature that is part divine. Within the Blessed Trinity there are two infinite streams of knowledge and love. Chapter I of St. John's Gospel tells us that the Father speaks a Word. That Word is not the quickly passing vibration of the air that our words are. No, it is substantial and it fully expresses Him. It is a Divine Person, the Word, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. That is the infinite stream of knowledge, that IS a Divine Person. Between these Divine Persons there arises equally infinite love. Again, that love is no mere vibration, it is substantial, it is, again, a Person, the Holy Spirit, who IS the love of the Father for the Son, and the Son for the Father". By Rev. William G. Most
🏐 "For in my Father's house, says our Lord, there are many mansions," in which shall be distributed rewards of greater and of less value according to each one's deserts. He who soweth sparingly, shall also reap sparingly: and he who soweth in blessings, shall also reap blessings". The Catechism of Trent

The text mess for the 7th of October, the Feast of The Holy Rosary, is now conveniently being used in this Ijournal entry. The "MC" (My Comments) is serving as the veggie dish.

(MC= For those not familiar with the "MC", it is my comments as a response to the text mess being shared. We must respond to what comes across our paths, not just in passing with a: "that's nice" mentality, but we must be hearers and doers. It's not just about sitting on the premises, but standing on the promises. Learning and growing, getting better and better, stronger and stronger should be the goal. It's about being spiritually army strong. Sure there are days when we are weak, drained and found to be the casualty of the day, but every tomorrow brings the potential for a brighter day. We help each other, one is weak on a day that another is strong, and vice a versa.
The text mess arm of the GIG Apostolate, like all that is coming my way, is first and foremost for me. Fabulous tools to help further me, and those who care to join in, along the pathway that leads to eternal life. For sure it's remedial help, assistance that is very much needed so that my assigned place won't be one that is located in the back. Who wants to rank last in the class? God does have a hierarchy, for there are different choirs of angels and certainly different levels of glory (not referring to the beliefs held by Mormons). Jesus had a favorite beloved apostle named John, and of course God's chosen people were the Israelites. Using a phrase that my uncle Boy used to say: "That ought to tellyou& something right there". May Marshal's soul rest in peace, Amen. Scripture speaks clearly:

This is not a feel good ministry, although it can at times help you feel good. If it's not good to you, it's definitely good for you. As everything is not for everybody, very thankful for those who are partners ready to roll, for the violent who seize the kingdom, and are becoming better armed and more day by day.
As we support each other to become better prepared citizens for the kingdom, let's not always be found reaching for the pause button. Let's embrace truth and self knowledge so that we'll reach our goal. Remember all that is filtered down is targeted at me, with the intention of helping to spur grow. So it's just the sharing of lessons, nothing personal, but if a dart comes your way, live and learn. Glad for those who play hard ball, keep on keeping on, cause in the end the high rollers win big. Please pray for me to "get it", every challenging "it" that comes my way, and for all those who care to live a life leading to glory. Yes to God be the glory forever and ever!

"TRACTATE 67
JOHN 14:1-3 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith* in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be" |
"But why have we this that follows, "In my Father's house are many mansions," but that they were also in fear about themselves? And therein they might have heard the words, "Let not your heart be troubled." For, was there any of them that could be free from fear, when Peter, the most confident and forward of them all, was told, "The cock shall not crow till thou hast denied me thrice"? Considering themselves, therefore, beginning with Peter, as destined to perish, they had cause to be troubled: but when they now hear, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you," they are revived from their trouble, made certain and confident that after all the perils of temptations they shall dwell with Christ in the presence of God. For, albeit one is stronger than another, one wiser than another, one more righteous than another, "in the Father's house there are many mansions;" none of them shall remain outside that house, where every one, according to his deserts, is to receive a mansion.
All alike have that penny, which the householder orders to be given to all that have wrought in the vineyard, making no distinction therein between those who have labored less and those who have labored more: by which penny, of course, is signified eternal life, whereto no one any longer lives to a different length than others, since in eternity life has no diversity in its measure. But the many mansions point to the different grades of merit in that one eternal life. For there is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory; and so also the resurrection of the dead. The saints, like the stars in the sky, obtain in the kingdom different mansions of diverse degrees of brightness; but on account of that one penny no one is cut off from the kingdom; and God will be all in all in such a way, that, as God is love, love will bring it about that what is possessed by each will be common to all. For in this way every one really possesses it, when he loves to see in another what he has not himself. There will not, therefore, be any envying amid this diversity of brightness, since in all of them will be reigning the unity of love"
