"The Rosary is not a prayer of words but of meditation…meditated the entire gospel, the incarnation, birth, life, suffering, death, resurrection, and glory of our Lord Jesus the Christ. The Rosary is also called “angelic salutation”, it is the summary about the Blessed Virgin and her Son’s life on earth and it consists of two parts, that of praise and petition. The key to properly saying the rosary is to concentrate on the Hail Mary, and more emphasis on the MEDITATION of the MYSTERIES. In that way, you are properly reliving the entire GOSPEL in your heart and soul.
📖 (Hebrew 8:10) “I will put my laws into their minds and write them on their hearts. Then I will be their God and they shall be my people.”
This is the quickest and surest way to please the Holy Trinity as told to us by St. Domininic in his book the secret of the Holy Rosary". By

🔵 "The Our Father prayer is not for oneself, but for all of us, not 'My Father . . . give me' but 'Our Father . . . give us this day, our daily bread'. This prayer would have been said in that Upper Room of the Pentecost where the Mother of Jesus with other women and the disciples prayed together". By St. Cyprian
⚫️ "St Teresa said the saints rejoiced at injuries, because in forgiving them they had something to offer to God". By Evelyn Underhill
⚪️ "Let our whole life as we pray without ceasing say '' Our Father, which art in heaven'', having its citizenship in no wise upon earth but in every way in the heavens which are God's thrones, inasmuch as the kingdom of God is set up in all those who bear the image of the heavenly and for that reason have become heavenly". By St. Angela Foligno:
🔴 "You take heed what man does against you, but not what you do against God, which is worse than what was done to you. For how can he forgive much when you will not forgive even the little debt". By St. Augustine:
🔵 "The Our Father contains all possible petitions; we cannot conceive of any prayer not already contained in it. It is to prayer what Christ is to humanity. It is impossible to say it once through, giving the fullest possible attention to each word, without a change, infinitesimal perhaps but real, talking place in the soul". By Simone Weil
The Veggies
On one occasion after receiving the sacrament of reconciliation, my penance was to say the Our Father slowly 12 times. This came on the heels of hearing something about how more graces are obtained from performing a more difficult penance than from a very small easy penance. Very thankful to God for that penance, because there is always a need for more graces in order to be able to live my spiritual life in a way that is more pleasing to God. Striving to live more pleasing to, but always falling short, so for me, every single grace counts. Having been taught by the Lord to pray slowly, this was just a confirmation to keep it up. It's His personal call, no matter the speed of others, to pray slowly. The general call is to all to pray from the heart, and if prayer is coming from the heart, dear precious lambs, "it ain't fast and furious"!
After praying four Our Father prayers, in the middle of the fifth one, a grace was given. It was related to the virtue of compassion that the Lord God was calling me to work on. More about that one day in another ijournal entry, but there was a bit of clarity as can be related to compassion. When praying the following: "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us", it came to mind that it will be easier for me to have more compassion on people who aggravate me if an effort is made to forgive as being forgiven. If an offense is forgiven, what is there to be aggravated about? With compassion, sorrow will be present for the person who knows not what they do. This applies to a valid offense, but in more cases than not, it is just my super-sensitivity that is in high gear.
The following contemplation unfolded as the remainder of the dozen Our Fathers were prayed: (the scripture passages were added at a later date)
〰 1. "Our Father"
When praying this prayer in solidarity with Jesus, Blessed Immaculata, and St. Joseph at her side, we are proceeding towards the throne of the Father. Jesus is holding my left hand, and Blessed Immaculata is holding my right hand. The Holy Spirit is hovering above. We are all coming into the presence of God, "Our Father".
📖 John 14:2 "My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?"
How solid a prayer, when they are with me addressing "Our Father". How blest am I to be able to stand in between Jesus and Blessed Immaculata and be given the grace to be called a child of God. They are interceding and helping me in prayer as we together stand before '"Our Father".
📖 Roman 8:49 "For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters"
〰 2. "Who art in heaven"
To think of the place where my Heavenly Father resides, that His home is in heaven, should bring much comfort. It is to know without a doubt, He rules, is in charge, and that He desires my eternal abode to be in heaven. My destiny is to be where He is forever.
📖 1 Thessalonians 4:17 "After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever"
Since that is where my destiny lies, my behavior should be fitting for one who is to be a future inhabitant of the kingdom, along with my sisters and brothers in Christ, because one day we are to live happily with Our Father in heaven.
📖 Ephesians 5:27 "That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish"
〰 3. "Hallowed be thy name"
My Father is Holy, His name is powerful. Since the name in which my family legacy falls is hallowed, a holy name, all that is said and done by me should be manifested in a positive manner, reflecting the utmost dignity. The name should be exalted in every circumstance. My behavior should be different, and holiness should engulf my whole being, proclaiming the glory of God.
📖 Psalm 103:1 "Of David. Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
📖 Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe"
〰 4. "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done"
There is a point in time, where there is a great need to see clearly, and differentiate between "our" and "thy". To distinguish and reflect accordingly upon this is necessary act. It is always about "our" when it comes to "Father". The key is prioritizing, it's thine and not "my" will that is to be done.
📖 Jeremiah 32:27 ""I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?"
When it comes down to "will", it is not about "mine", "yours" or "ours", it's always about "thy", we all have to be subject to our Father. He is ours totally, and His will is to be totally done by all. We get all of Him, as He surrenders Himself fully to us, down to giving up His only begotten Son to suffer and be crucified, dying on the cross for us. In return, we get our chance to give ourselves fully to Him as He deserves, this is done by giving up and surrendering our will totally to Him.
📖 John 4:34 ""My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work"
〰 5. "On earth as it is in heaven"
In Heaven all is perfect, as it should be on earth, but it us not. That is why it isn't perfect here, because we are not in full compliance with God's holy will. The more we want to experience the peace and happiness of heaven here, the more we need to behave in a heavenly way. Even with crooked lines, God can write straight due to graces being poured out upon the earth. We can have more of the experience of, "as it is in heaven", if we would cooperate. God rules there and He rules on earth, but He permits and allows certain things, working everything for a greater good. At all times, everything is within His power, and nothing supersedes His judgments.
📖 Psalm 103:19 "The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all"
📖 Matthew 4:17 "From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
〰 6. "Give us this day our daily bread"
There is no need for us to ever be fearful, worry, or be anxious. We should ask, seek, and knock, and then let our faith assure us that answers are forthcoming from Our Father, for He answers His children. He gives us our daily bread, without fail. Our needs are met, even spiritually He have, and will, continue to provide for us the bread from heaven. His Son is to be Eucharist, our spiritual daily bread. We will not lack anything that is specifically earmarked for us, for if He is far us, who can be against? Our bread comes in His time, and comes to us in His way. Daily a portion, an adequate provision will be allotted us, on that we can most definitely depend. Sometimes it is just the grace that will see us through, so at the moment, grace is sufficient for our daily bread, as come down from heaven.
📖 Luke 12(6-7) "Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows"
📖 Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus"
〰 7. "And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"
Day in and day out, by being vigilant we will see the example set for us, we are to be imitators of Christ. It is imperative that we be imitators, as the Father does, so should each son and daughter follow His example. You forgive us, then we in turn must pass the torch down the line to another. We are to keep the ball rolling. This is one relay race that should have no end. If forgiveness is truly offered and lived, compassion will flow, because there will not be any impediments to block or clog up the channel of grace. The stream of mercy will be free flowing and unending.
📖 1 Thessalonians 1:6 "And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit"
📖 Matthew 18:35 "And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him. My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart."
〰 8. "And lead us not into temptation"
We can relax, be at peace, and rest assured, knowing that nothing or no one can have the final say over us. Our Father will monitor and watch over us every step of the way of our lives. He is not a dead beat Dad. He cares for every child, in every way, every day, protecting us and preventing what should not happen. He will only allow what is for our greater good. Only His wisdom can, and will be the absolute rule, both now and forever. With this in mind, we should truly "fear not", for God is indeed with us.
📖 Psalm 121:7 "The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life"
📖 Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
〰 9. "But deliver us from evil"
Everything that was created by God was good. Evil is most often the minus rather than the plus. It is the missing element from the "good" that was meant to be. It can in some cases be the addition of something that is superfluous, interfering with what is good and causing a disorder. The disorder of what should be ordered, is what God delivers us from. What He allows is ordered for the purpose of working a greater good, for now and for later. Our Father is powerful and mighty, not allowing His own to be ravaged by the enemy. He shields us, and only what He permits will take place. God possesses the strong upper right hand, and He shall not be moved. We as His children, stand under His protection for ever and ever, secure for all of eternity.
📖 2 Thessalonians 3:3 "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one"
📖 Psalm 16:8 "I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken"
〰 10. "Amen"
So be it today, tomorrow, and forever, yes so be it! To God be the Glory. now and for ever and ever.
📖 Psalm 41:13 "Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen."
📖 Revelation 7:12 "They sang, "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen."

"ST. TERESA'S OUR FATHER" by Father Gabriel Barry, OCD. Info from this site: http://www.angelfire.com/ca5/stjoseph/formdocs/22.htm
Excerpts from "GROWTH IN CHRIST":
"The spirit of man is a very different thing from his body, but they are united to form one person. Moreover, they both grow and mature, and the laws by which they grow are not unalike. In order that the body may become strong and healthy, two things are necessary. First, it must be protected from injury, and second, it must be given food, air and exercise. The soul of man too needs to be protected from what would harm it. This is something Jesus taught us to petition in the Our Father: 'Deliver us from evil." St. Teresa sums it all up vigorously in her commentary on these words. 'Deliver me from the many, many, many things that weary and depress me; to enumerate them all would weary the reader if I were to repeat them." In another series of chapters she discusses with great insight the significance of the words: 'lead us not into temptation." It is not a question of asking God to make us exempt from distress or conflicts, but praying for the strength and humility to cope with them and to profit by them. In this context, she discusses the very relevant question of exposure to evil. Though she was no pessimist, St. Teresa had no illusions about human weakness. She knew that when self-assured people deliberately courted risks, under the impression that they were too experienced to be caught, they were rushing to their ruin. Pride always goes before a fall. On the other hand, those who possess the gift of holy Fear, which accompanies true prayer, will be able to walk in great freedom and associate with anyone they meet, even dissolute people. "These will do you no harm, if you hate sin.'
On the positive side, the human soul needs food, just as the body does. 'For man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. 'And so in the Our Father, Jesus teaches us to pray: 'Give us this day our daily bread.' This means the Living Bread which came down from heaven, and includes all the grace and truth that came through Jesus Christ. It includes the Blessed Eucharist, the Living Bread for our souls, as well as truth for our minds and grace for our wills. St. Teresa has three fine chapters, commenting on this petition. She shows us how our prayer should revolve round the Blessed Eucharist, by which the life and strength and light of Christ are communicated to us, so that we can grow up to be like Him. We receive and feed on this divine food, in order that we may live an eternal, undying life. 'For God's free gift is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.' This is the gift which He came on earth to bestow, and to give it to us in the greatest possible abundance."

Beware Of The Bad Results Of Repetition" by Georgy N Joseph

Excerpts from the article:
"All of us do pray. We have many standard prayers like the Lord’s Prayer and the Rosary. Most of us also go to Church everyday or on Sundays to attend the Holy Mass and receive the Holy Eucharist. Have you ever thought that the repetitive nature of these have made us look at these or do these in a more casual way, without giving the utmost reverence to these which they rightfully deserve?. Consider the following 3 areas where we should never allow repetition to reduce their immense importance.
✏️ 1. The Lord’s Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer, our central prayer, the prayer taught by Jesus Christ, the prayer which is said most number of times by any Christian in his life. There is no doubt that all of us know this prayer by heart. But I really doubt that each time we utter this prayer, are we focusing on the real meaning of the words said here? Or are we just doing vain repetitions with our mouth with ten other things in our mind?
Human mind is weak by itself and its restless. Even while praying, it can ponder away across many topics making the prayer just a vain repetition. But my friends, even that vain repetition has some value as you are repeating the words spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ. But just imagine how much more value, more meaning, you can add to your prayers if you really sink in to what your mouth is uttering?
When you say ‘our Father in Heaven’ do also remember that you are calling our God as your almighty father who reigns in Heaven. When you say ‘hallowed be your name’, please really wish for that. Please wish that HIS name will be honored all over the world. When you say ‘Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.’, you are proclaiming that you are waiting for HIS kingdom and HIS will on earth, just as it’s in heaven.
‘Give us this day our daily bread’ is asking him just for today’s meal as you are not concerned what will happen tomorrow or day after. You are sure that the immense mercy and protection and love of our GOD will protect you and your family in the days to come too. ‘Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors’ is a huge one. It should really make us think about those who had hurt us but to whom we are yet to forgive. Just like the parable, the master will forgive our sins according to the scale of our forgiveness level. ‘And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil’ is a humble request to the LORD to keep us away from all those evil eyes and instances of sin and to protect our souls from darkness. We should ask LORD to wash each of our senses in HIS holy blood from the Cross so that no impurity enter us through them.
✏️ 2. Rosary (Hail Mary)
This prayer also has great importance as its taken from the words of God’s messenger, the angel who visited Mary. We say this prayer 50 times in a normal rosary and I wonder how many among those really count!
‘Hail Mary, full of grace’… stop there, remember our Heavenly Mother, she is now being called by the Angel as the one who is full of Grace. Yes, Mother Mary was so filled with Grace than anyone else at that time in this World. ‘Our Lord is with you’…yes, she never did anything against God’s will and He was there with her all through her life, sometimes as Her heavenly dad and sometimes as her earthly son. ‘Blessed are you among woman’… she was the most blessed one among all the woman in the World and you sure know that’s not an easy achievement. Her every action was God-driven and she was so pure in body and soul that she was chosen to give birth to our LORD here on Earth. ‘Blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus’ …stop there, imagine the baby Jesus twisting in her small womb, how blessed a mother she is to have our Lord as her son. And we can also see the greatest of the greatest, the king of Kings, who is humbling himself to just a human baby form inside Mary’s womb.
‘Holy Mary, Mother of God’ has a significance. I know many who still don’t accept the huge importance of Mother Mary in the savior’s plan. They are reluctant to admit that she is our God’s mom. My friends, if you accept Jesus as your God, never be shy in proclaiming this truth that Mary is the Mother of GOD. ‘Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death’ – this one needs some explanation. Ever wondered why we say this line, especially why we point towards the time of our death? Make no mistake friends, the devil will surely come near you in your last moments on Earth and make you remember each and every sin you had committed here on Earth. He will show all those in front of your eyes when your whole life flashes in front of you and seeing all those, you just feel you are never going to make it to heaven and hell is waiting for you.
That’s the time our Mother will come to our Bed with all the angels to help us drive Satan away. She will make sure that we wont be desperate in our last moments here and will pray for our souls to the almighty God so that we go through a calm silent peaceful death. You can make it out yourself if you see different people in their last moments, some are so noisy and frightened while other are so calm and full of joy as they can internally see Heaven waiting for them".
