"Let us imitate the Holy Family in our Christian families, and our family will be a cell and a prefiguration of the heavenly family. The purpose of every marriage is to establish a Christian family. Marriage is too often conceived as the sacrament which unites a man and a woman to form a couple. In reality, marriage establishes a family, and its purpose is to increase the number of the elect, through the bodily and spiritual fecundity of the Christian spouses. Every marriage intends children. Although Mary and Joseph were not united in a carnal way, their marriage is a true marriage: an indissoluble, exclusive union, wholly subordinated to the child. Mary and Joseph are united only in order to bring Jesus into the world, to protect and raise him. They have only one child, but he contains the whole of mankind, even as Isaac, an only child, fulfilled the promise made to Abraham.
The Holy Family observed the religious laws of Israel; it went in pilgrimage to Jerusalem every year with other Jewish families (Lk. 2:41). Jesus saddens and amazes his father and his mother because to their will and company he prefers "to be in his Father's house". Thus it may happen that God's will obliges the family to make disconcerting sacrifices. Yet every Christian family must live in harmony and in prayer, which are the pledges of joy and union".

The Rule of St. Benedict
"We believe that God is present everywhere and that the eyes of the Lord in every place behold the good and the evil; but let us especially believe this without any doubt when we are assisting at the Divine Office. Therefore let us ever remember the words of the prophet: Serve ye the Lord in fear; and again, Sing ye wisely; and, I will sing to thee in the sight of the angels. Let us then consider how we ought to behave ourselves in the presence of God and his angels, and so sing the psalms that mind and voice may be in harmony".
(MC=Can this not suit us well, all ye church goers and Adoration Chapel adorers? God is watching attentively, and His eyes are upon us, awaiting our praises, thanksgivings, and homage that is certainly His due. Are we more into minding the business of others, serving with the lips instead of the heart, and chattering frivolously with others, instead of being mindful of who we are serving? Oh God, teach us how to reverence you in church and chapel, letting go of our own will bent of doing as we please, when we please, and how we please)

🔵 "Anyone can find what is beautiful and true by living apart from ordinary life. Everyone is enlightened on the mountaintop. The harder choice is to live with the knowing right in the center of your life. In your daily chores. In the middle of a family. In places of commerce. The challenge is to find what is beautiful and true in ordinary life". By Paula D'Arcy
🌘 "If we are going to provide the culture with the answers it is so desperately longing for, we need to understand the richness of theology that the Church has to offer. We need organizations and students committed to studying the richness of the Faith in order to share it with the world". By St. John Paul II
🔴 "Prayer and fasting, worship and adoration, Scripture and sacraments and sacramentals all provide the weapons of our spiritual warfare. With them we go on the offensive against the Evil One. But the virtues provide our defense armor. As Blessed Pope Paul VI once observed, St. Paul ‘used the armor of a soldier as a symbol for the virtues that can make a Christian invulnerable.’ They are our best defense against his attacks, for they guard our minds and hearts from his deceptions and temptations. A lapse in virtue is in fact a chink in our armor that makes us vulnerable." By Paul Thigpen

A slice from a recent experience during the 33Days Marian Consecration to Jesus through Blessed Mary, ever Virgin. One day the understanding became crystal clear how burning charity is needed for the most intimate and closest union with Jesus Christ. We can't reach our full potential for that without our consecration to Our Lady. The reason being that she has a connection like no other human, and is someone that can most effectively help us cross the line. Jesus was inside her womb for nine months and He has her human blood, so that presents a unique connection. As spouse of the Holy Spirit and Mediatrix of graces, this also enhances her ability to aid us. On our own we can't know how, or unaided by grace, are we able to image Jesus as is pleasing in the sight of the Father. The more Jesus abides in us, the more we look like and resemble Him, is how we are more pleasing the Father. It is the Blessed Holy Virgin who can really show us how to do this.
Here are the questions from day 26 and my answers.
Here are the questions from day 26 and my answers.
🗣1. My reminders to do something comes in the form of asking the Holy Spirit to help me and sometimes it's to write a note.
b.) To remember ordinary daily things, that is the job of the Holy Spirit. For timed activities, the best solution is setting a clock.
c.) The clock is chosen because it is a reliable instrument, perfect for success in regards the task.
d). We need the Holy Spirit, for He is the one Jesus left us to help us complete our mission. This scripture clearly indicates the point:

🗣2. The love of self in an inordinate way prevents me from giving all of my love to God, and not possessing a willingness to suffer as might be called for as God so wills which helps the kingdom come, and serves as needed reparation on my part.
b.) God knows my desires are to be the best possible for Him, so most definitely asking for that grace now, for "perfection without compromise". As much as Jesus begins to live in me, then that perfection will occur because it will not be about me but as is written in scripture :

🗣3. The personal message Jesus might have had for His mother in His unrecorded appearance to her after His Resurrection might have been to express how glorified, pleased and elated the Father is by the recent course of events that have taken place. How together as twin hearts they pulled this off perfectly, and how much He loves her for her total and complete yes, always unselfish and giving her all, not matter what. He probably told her about her exalted role in heaven and from now on unto eternity, she would continue an important role in the plan of salvation to redeem and bring lost souls back into the fold. The doors are now open, the bar lowered by grace and forgiveness, but many are failing to repent and come in.
b.) The message from the Risen Christ that Blessed Mary might want to share with me would be to persevere, unite my self and be steadfast in carrying out my assigned duties that helpful in saving my soul, spreading the Good News fostering the work of the kingdom, and helping lead others and myself walk through the doors of mercy opened to us by the sacrifice on Calvary.

🗣4. The Holy Spirit have already taken great care in helping me to invoke Blessed Mary's help and motherly mediation between her Son. This materialized in my life by my responding to the inspiration to pray the following after receiving communion: That Blessed Mary Immaculate become the soil of my soul so that it will possible for me to bear much good fruit. As she is the soil of my soul and heart, it will be possible for growth to occur. When frequenting the Sacrament of Reconciliation, she will help me to obtain the complete sorrow that is need for true contrition and reparation, that will be complete and pleasing in the sight of God. If we are consecrated to her, then we have her merits and not our own, as we have made a very profitable exchange. Have to remind her and especially at the hour of death, a dead is a deal, so with her merits we are quickly cleared at the check point.
All this reminds me of a conversation without someone about meeting Jesus empty handed. We were out having lunch, a friend that is dear but often we do not see eye to eye spiritually. Well sure enough, after discussing the portion of the Marian Consecration about St. Terese, a doctor of the church, mind you, we could not see eye to eye. Proceeded to explain how St. Therese she will give all to Blessed Mary and when she stand before the Lord she will appear dot handed. The Consecration says that she we give her our all, the Blessed Mother will give us all that is hers. So beautiful a transfer that will merit us much. Well the person goes on to say how when meeting Jesus, there will be on one side of the scale poor works & the expectant hope is that on the other side will be God's mercy to balance things out because there is a scripture that says do not appear before the Lord empty handed.
Finally learning how to behave, praise the Lord, not another word came out of my mouth. Two years ago it would have been forcefully trying to get the point across, of course without success, but just causing frustration and unhappiness to a person who is always smiling and happy most of the time. However, the issue was far from over as far as the Holy Spirit was concerned. At Mass the scripture about the servant with the talent and his appearance before the judge popped up in my head:

Since the person is going to daily Mass and holy hours, and attending other spiritual activities frequently, it might be inquired of the reason for such poor works when so many rich graces were available to the person daily. Frequent spiritual activities, Mass and Eucharistic Adoration seven days a week, which does not merit much, might be grounds for extra stripes for wasting graces. Others who are not availing themselves to so many graces may have a reason for not doing as well, because they did not have the graces to do better, but did the best possible with what they had. Further more, if we did everything right, it could not in the least compare in weight with what the Blessed Virgin possesses and adds to the scales that now belongs to us.
The servant was reprimanded, so this led to thoughts about how at death mercy ends and justice prevails. So the time for mercy is not when everything have already been weighed the scales, but at preparation time before hand, regarding what will appear on the scales and if it will be enough to balance things out.
So, for me it is to follow the doctor and not lean on my own understanding. Common sense dictates to stick with the saints and their teaching if you want to grow and make progress, especially so as to not be found wanting on the scales.

Exodus 20:8-11"Remember that thou keep holy the sabbath day. Six days shalt thou labor, and shalt do all thy works. But on the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt do no work on it, thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy beast, nor the stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the Lord made Heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them, and rested on the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it." |
⚡️"1. What is the Third Commandment?
Remember thou keep holy the Sabbath Day.
⚡️2. What does the Third Commandment oblige you to do?
* To attend Mass every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation.
* To avoid all unnecessary manual ("servile") work or shopping on Sundays and Holy Days.
⚡️3. What are the six Holy Days of Obligation in the United States?
* Christmas (Dec. 25), feast of the Birth of Jesus Christ.
* New Year's Day (Jan. 1), Circumcision of Jesus Christ.
* Ascension Thursday (40 days after Easter).
* Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Aug. 15)
* All Saints Day (Nov. 1)
* Immaculate Conception (Dec. 8).
* In Canada, Epiphany (Jan. 6) is a Holy Day, but the Feast of the Assumption is not.
⚡️4. What kind of sin is it to miss Mass on Sunday or a Holy Day?
To miss Mass on these days through your own fault and without sufficient reason is a mortal sin.
⚡️5. What kind of sin is it to be late for Mass on a Sunday or Holy Day of Obligation?
If, through your own fault, you come into the church --
* Anytime before the priest takes the veil off the chalice, you commit a venial sin, unless you stay for the missed part in another Mass.
* Anytime after the priest takes the veil off the chalice you commit a mortal sin, unless you stay for another entire Mass. The priest removing the veil from the chalice marks the beginning of the Offertory, the first of the three principal parts of the Mass.
⚡️6. Are you ever excused from the obligation of hearing Mass?
Yes, but only for a serious reason.Examples: Sickness, caring for a sick person, long distance from the church, necessary work.
⚡️7. Can a priest excuse you from the obligation?
Yes, your pastor, or the priest in Confession, can excuse you for a sufficient reason. But it is not necessary to ask a priest if you know you have a sufficient reason.
⚡️8. What does the Third Commandment oblige you to do as a parent?
You have the serious obligation to see that your children attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days.
⚡️9. What kind of work is forbidden on Sundays and Holy Days?
Manual ("servile") work, unless it is necessary, such as making beds, washing dishes, taking care of the sick.
⚡️10. Is it wrong to enjoy sports and other recreation on Sunday?
No, unless they interfere with your religious obligations.Examples: Movies, dancing.
⚡️11. What kind of sin is it to do unnecessary physical work on Sunday or a Holy Day of Obligation?
A mortal sin, if you work for a substantial length of time; a venial sin, if for a briefer length of time.Unnecessary physical work is considered to be a mortal sin if it totals about 2.5 to 3 hours of hard work.
NOTE... The Church changed the Lord's Day from Saturday to Sunday because Our Lord rose from the dead on Sunday and the Holy Ghost came down upon the Apostles on Pentecost Sunday. Also, Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday the last. It is altogether more fitting in the New, more perfect Law or Testament that the Church consecrate the first day of the week to the Lord, rather than the last. Thus we give God the "first fruits" of our week.
Remember thou keep holy the Sabbath Day.

"Welcome to the Taste and See: Experiencing God with Our Senses online retreat. Today we consider the sense of hearing. Thanks to technology, we have a lot of individual control over what we hear. We have favorite songs on our phones, podcasts we can tune into whenever we drive, and headphones to block out the conversation around us on an airplane. We are increasingly able to skip anything we don’t want to listen to, be it an uninspiring song or the flight attendant’s safety spiel. We can spend much of our time in a little cocoon of our favorite sounds. This is nice, certainly, but perhaps it has a downside. It puts us at risk of insulating ourselves from the broader world. It can also prevent us from making happy discoveries of new songs or sounds we love. There’s something to be said for periodically ditching the personal playlist and simply listening to the things that are going on around us.
I tried this the other day, deciding not to put on my favorite songs as I worked on the computer. Instead, I tuned in to what I could hear through the open window. When I paid attention to what was out there, I realized that there was a great deal going on, even in my little corner of the neighborhood. There was a siren far away in the distance, which made me momentarily ponder the fragility of life and the gift of people who come to help in times of crisis.
There were kids calling to each other as they played, a reminder of the joy of childhood and proof that in this technology-saturated age, kids still gather in front yards for tag and ball. There were the chirps of assorted birds rustling and flapping in the trees, having their own conversation in their own language, always a cheerful sound. There was the faraway blare of the train and its rumble down the tracks as it brought commuters home from work, a reminder of so many people out there trying to balance all the parts of their lives, just as I try to do.
We are fortunate to have so many choices for what we listen to, to have the technology to pick and choose. But sometimes, it helps to unplug from the old favorites and tune in to the broader world around us. Just a few moments without the earbuds or playlist can start our thoughts in new directions, sparking fresh insights and facilitating prayer. And we just may hear that still, small voice of God, calling us in ways we would otherwise miss.
✔️Prayer
💫Begin. Center yourself. Take three deep breaths and open yourself to 💫God’s presence.
💫Give thanks. Thank God for music, for technology, for the ability to connect with others through our ears.
✔️Review
💫Think of the things you chose to listen to today: songs, podcasts, radio stations. Reflect on why you like them and what they do to enhance your life.
💫Were there moments today when you chose to forgo the playlist and listen to something new? What prompted that? What did you hear?
💫Look ahead. Pay attention to your listening habits. Be alert to ways you can revise them to allow for surprises, for discovery, and for greater involvement with your environment.
✔️Action
💫Every day, take a time when you would normally be tuning into a song or show, and instead just listen to the world around you. What are the sounds you notice? Where do your thoughts go? Follow wherever they lead.
