"July is the month dedicated to the Precious Blood of Jesus. Among devotions to the humanity of Christ (e.g., Divine Infancy, Sacred Heart), the Precious Blood of Jesus has the most biblical precedent since it is mentioned so frequently in the New Testament (over 75 times). Saint Peter, our first Pope, specifically refers to the blood of Christ as:
In fact, it might even be said that the entire Old Testament is a lesson in “blood sacrifice” as an anticipation of Christ’s obedient and merciful sacrifice on the wood of the life-giving cross. St. Paul could rightfully be called the “Theologian of the Precious Blood.” The Apostle even tell us to place our “faith in His blood”:
This reveals that the Precious Blood of Jesus is not an abstraction, but a true devotion to the Divine Person of Christ". By Dr. Taylor Marshall

Enjoy a little humor from the web!
The 4th July Picnic
"A Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic Priest met at Albuquerque's annual 4th
of July picnic. Old friends, they began their usual banter.
'This baked ham is really delicious,' the priest teased the rabbi. 'You
really ought to try it. I know it's against your religion, but I can't
understand why such a wonderful food should be forbidden. You
don't know what you're missing. You just haven't lived until you've
tried Mrs Warren's prized Virginia Baked Ham. Tell me, Rabbi, when
are going to break down and try it?'
The rabbi looked at the priest with a big grin, and said, 'At your
wedding."

"It's too little to say that everything is good because it exists, or because God created it. Rather, it should be put this way: because the being of the world participates in the divine being which pervades it to its innermost core, the world is not only a good world; it is in a very precise sense holy". St. Thomas Aquinas
MTA= Our perspective radically changes as truth is internalized, transforming our lives inside out. Hope becomes alive as faith serves as the fulcrum helping us to transcend the mundane and worldly point of view to a concrete spiritual one.

🇺🇸"The minutes that follow Communion are the most precious we have in our lives. They are the minutes best suited on our part for treating with God, and on His part for communicating His love to us". By St. Mary Magdalene di Pazzi
🇺🇸"Let us detain ourselves lovingly with Jesus and not waste the hour that follows Communion. It is an excellent time to deal with God and put before Him the matters that concern our soul. ...As we know that good Jesus remains within us until our natural warmth has dissolved the breadlike qualities, we should take great care not to lose such a beautiful opportunity to treat with Him and lay our needs before Him". By St. Therese of the Child Jesus
🇺🇸"Jesus: My mercy is greater than your sins and those of the entire world. Who can measure the extent of my goodness? For you I descended from heaven to earth; for you I allowed myself to be nailed to the cross; for you I let my Sacred Heart be pierced with a lance, thus opening wide the source of mercy for you. Come, then, with trust to draw graces from this fountain. I never reject a contrite heart. Your misery has disappeared in the depths of My mercy. Do not argue with Me about your wretchedness. You will give me pleasure if you hand over to me all your troubles and griefs. I shall heap upon you the treasures of My grace". Diary of St. Faustina, #1485
🇺🇸"Time given to Christ is never time lost, but is rather time gained,
so that our relationships and indeed our whole life may become more profoundly human". By St. Pope John Paul II
🇺🇸"Confession heals, confession justifies, confession grants pardon of sin. All hope consists in confession. In confession there is a chance for mercy. Believe it firmly. Do not doubt, do not hesitate, never despair of the mercy of God. Hope and have confidence in confession". St. Isidore of Seville

It's amazing how events unfold, very intriguing when the Holy Spirit is moving among men. It all started with the Veggie that was served up last week. It was my intention to verify if the following line from my composed prayer was sound:
"Father, Father, how fantastic, great, and deep is your love for us, proven by the gift of Yourself through Your Well Beloved Son, Jesus"
The question was regarding the Father being a gift of Himself through Jesus? Called the cloistered monastery where my aunt, Sr. Therese was a nun for 62 years before passing away, and the theologian in the house, Sr. Jeremiah, was unavailable to speak to me, so decided to forge ahead, and would backtrack if necessary.
The next day after the unsuccessful call, while compiling an email to the participants joining me in the 33 days Consecration to Merciful Love, while looking for the draft with the names of the people involved, the draft that popped up was the one from a few years ago with this contemplation that is now being shared. Finding that prompted the decision that the time was right for it to be a veggie. While looking for an accompanying scripture, this scripture from Hebrews crossed my path:

It was like, yes, yes, yes! This may be my answer to the soundness of my writing about Father being a gift of Himself to us through Jesus? If some knowledgeable soul thinks this is incorrect, please come forth and speak up, letting the truth be told.
Now back to the matter of the day, with a little bit of tweaking in tow...Once upon a time, some years ago while driving the car this contemplation suddenly came to mind: There is only one way for God's will to be executed to perfection, and that one and only way involves a "Who"; As it was in the beginning, is now & ever shall be. For Jesus is the Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. For when you can truly say: "It is no longer I who liveth but Christ who liveth in me", then not only will perfection be conceivable, it will be achievable and believable before God and before man.

Ok, it's not the end of the story. Maybe a day of so latter after receiving the contemplation, in my regular scripture readings, further enlightenment came by way of the book of Ephesians, chapter 1.
Notice how it says in verses three and four: "in Him we are chosen to be holy and without blemish before God. So that confirms to me how we can be perfect in executing God's will, so very possible if we are in Jesus, and if He is living in us. Furthermore, we then can be without blemish. As much as we allow grace to assist us, then this can most certainly happen and become a reality. The Blessed Virgin Mary was full of grace and consented fully to God's plans. That gift was given to her and she fully responded and cooperated with the gift. Let us pray to respond to the graces God gives us daily, so that we can totally fulfill His will by letting Jesus truly live in us. Let us frequent the Sacrament of Reconciliation. That restores us to a state of grace. Sample the potatoes and do heed the words of wisdom.

1 Corinthians 11:27 "Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgement to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord." |
Blessed Padre Pio ~ who lived in our day, died only some 50 years ago, a poor Italian born cappuchin monk and priest known since early childhood for his saintliness, his penances, mortifications and many miracles, who gave his life completely to God. Who was sought after the world over for his ability obtain cures and healing like the apostles, and especially for his ability to read souls in the Sacrament of Confession. Who suffered the visible and painful wounds of Christ in his body like St. Francis Assisi (The Stigmata) in his hands, feet, and side. Who found time to pray the rosary 35 times a day! Who was very devoted to The Blessed Virgin Mary ~ and died in the odor of sanctity ~ once said: "God sees blights even in the angels. What must he see in me!"
Holy Communion can only be received while one is in a state of grace. Therefore, if one is conscious of a mortal sin, even though he has repented of it and wants to receive Holy Communion ~ He must and without exception ~ be absolved from that stain of sin in the Sacrament of Confession ~ before he can receive the Good Lord in Holy Communion! Otherwise he is also guilty of committing the grave sin of sacrilege.
💥Jesus told St. Bridget:
"...there does not exist on earth a punishment which is great enough to punish it sufficiently!"
💥This is what The Council of Trent, on Catechism, (De Euch.,v.i) had
to say regarding the gravity of this matter: "As of all the sacred mysteries...none can compare with the ...Eucharist, so likewise for no crime is there heavier punishment to be feared from God than for the unholy or irreligious use by the faithful of that which...contains the very Author and Source of holiness."
The saints were well aware of the need for frequent purification in the sacrament of confession and their unworthiness to receive Our Lord in Holy Communion. It is a well known fact that a great many saints went to daily confession ~ or very frequently, before receiving Holy Communion. Some examples include: St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Francis de Sales, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Louis Bertrand, St. Hugh, St. Joseph Cupertino, St. Leonard of Port Maurice St. Cammillus de Lellis, St. Francis Borgia, and many more. Some examples of very frequent confession recipients are: St. Alphonsus, St. John Bosco, St. Pius X, St. Joseph Cafasso, and Blessed Padre Pio.
The most conscientious souls have always made confession at least once a week, for the sanctifying and purification of their souls from venial sins. Even ~ and especially ~ if one is a daily communicant.
💥* Fasting is required 1 hour before Mass.
(That includes gum-chewing and breath mints)
(A tiny sacrifice when one considers the incomprehensible gift one is to receive in return!)
In short, the saints teach us that frequent use of the sacraments of Confession and the reception of Holy Communion are critical conduits of holiness and happiness ~ and spiritual growth.

Luke 17:12-18 "And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off; And lifted up their voice, saying: "Jesus, master, have mercy on us." Whom when he saw, he said: "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And it came to pass, as they went, they were made clean. And one of them, when he saw that he was made clean, went back, with a loud voice glorifying God. And he fell on his face before his feet, giving thanks: and this was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering, said, "Were not ten made clean? and where are the nine? There is no one found to return and give glory to God, but this stranger." |
What do we see today in Church? Before the priest has even said the final blessing, people are tripping over each other to be the first out of the parking lot ~ as if they had something more important to do!! Did You Remember to Thank Him?
💥After he rose [the Angel of Fatima], he gave the Host to Lucia and Chalice to Jacinta and Francisco saying at the same time: "Eat and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ terribly outraged by the ingratitude of men. Offer reparation for their sins and console God."
💥It was the habit of many saints to spend long lengths of time in thanksgiving to God after receiving Jesus in Holy Communion. Here is what some had to say:
💥"I would not give up this hour of Thanksgiving even for an hour of Paradise". By St. Louis de Montfort
💥It was the practice of St. Benedict Joseph Labre after receiving Holy Communion to offer to God all the loving aspirations of the Blessed Mother, all the Apostles and saints which they had made after they'd received Holy Communion
Therefore, let us resolve to spend more time in Thanksgiving after receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion ~ bathing in those precious few moments ~ when our souls touch the God of all Creation! 1 hour? 1/2 hour? 15 minutes? Or are we to be counted among the first to leave? I've heard it said that being the first person to leave Mass - could be compared to Judas being the first to leave Christ at the Last Supper!
In your busy life ~ How much are you willing to spare for Jesus?
"Time given to Christ is never time lost, but is rather time gained,
so that our relationships and indeed our whole life
may become more profoundly human" ~ Pope John Paul II
