Black and Gold Boys, you didn't save the season but at least the day

🔴 There is nothing more touching in the Gospel than the way God treats his reconciled enemies — that is, converted sinners. He is not content to wipe away the stain of their sins. It is easy for his infinite goodness to prevent our sins from hurting us; he also wants them to profit us. He bring forth so much good from them that we are constrained to bless our faults and to cry out with the Church, “O happy fault! O felix culpa!” His graces struggle against our sins for the mastery, and it pleases him, as St. Paul said, that his “grace abound” in excess of our malice (Rom. 5:20)" By Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet
🔵 “A good way to start the New Year is to ask how you can be different than you are now. We were like a clock whose mainspring was broken. We have the ‘works’ but we do not ‘go’. Man cannot redeem himself any more than the clock can fix itself. If man is ever to be redeemed, redemption must: 1) Come from without human nature, and 2) be done from within. Human nature has contracted a bigger debt than it can pay. In sinning against God we piled up an infinite debt, and we have not enough balance of merits in our finite bank to meet the burden. …Evil is too deep-seated in the world to be righted by a little kindness or reason or tolerance.” By Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen
⚫️ "Chosen to be the Mother of the Son of God, Mary, from the outset, was prepared by the love of God to be the Ark of the Covenant between God and man. She treasured divine mercy in her heart in perfect harmony with her Son Jesus. Her hymn of praise, sung at the threshold of the home of Elizabeth, was dedicated to the mercy of God which extends from “generation to generation”

We too were included in those prophetic words of the Virgin Mary. This will be a source of comfort and strength to us as we cross the threshold of the Holy Year to experience the fruits of divine mercy". By Pope Francis (Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy)
A little Philippians 4:8 in action
What's on my mind as this new year comes through the door? It's coming in loud and clear how all of the saints were on the same page. Different paragraphs, but all were on the same page, engrossed in the one and only book that was the center of their attention. The book that captivated them is God, the content is Jesus, and the comprehension is by way of the Holy Spirit. Aiding our retention is Blessed Mary Ever Virgin, St. Joseph, and all the angels and saints.
Imagine the saints volleying back with a little something from Philippians of their own:
📖 Philippians 3:17 "Brethren, join in following my example, and
observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us"
Two days before releasing this Ijournal entry a post from Celebration Publications: "Daily Bread", contained a pertinent reflection useful for insertion here. Haven't read their posts in a while, but God's inspirations to us are definitely always on time.
"The saints of every time, every place; the capital-S Saints and the saints around us — all of them have two things in common: They know they aren’t God, and by their lives and their words they point to the One who is God. Somewhere in there is a codicil to every New Year’s resolution. Let’s work on it, shall we? Lord and Brother Jesus, the Christ who came for all, bless us this day and this year and guide us to be one who points to you". By Paige Byrne Shortal
Well is time now to March through the poetic doors, come with me if you wish.

About the saints having my say ~ Expressed best in a poetic way
🌲For the saints it was all about arriving victorious at the finish line, regarding holiness.
🌲Sparks flew, and the saints caught fire one after another, talking about sublime finesse?
🌲They had it, oh yes, oh yes!
🌲About the what, where, when & how the saints all knew the truth
🌲A point that was for them never moot
⭐️Because of their unique personality, their twist was a little varied, one from another, but it wasn't contorted in the least,
⭐️Be they from the West or from the East.
⭐️Some twists may have been elongated, some compressed & compact, but all uniform
⭐️ Nothing out of the norm.
⭐️A different aspect of focus, varying shades of the same color, no matter the religious discipline,
⭐️All running away as far as possible from sin
🌲From each other, what was good and right they learned.
🌲No advice or shared wisdom was spurned.
🌲The love for others & God's Holy Will was a priority deep in their hearts that burned.
🌲For Christians the focus is on God, whereas for some others the focus may be on Buddha, Jehovah, Mohammed, etc. Different spiritualities are embraced, but in unity the saints found community in diversity.
🌲Therefore they would not hold another in captivity, knowing it would be grace alone that could set a captive free.
🔥The Saints always leads by the light of truth & never miss in giving the right advice.
🔥Unfailing Help unto the path of true reverence & holiness so given will more than suffice
🔥No matter how you slice it or dice it, plain & simple, be it harsh or nice
🔥Whatever cost to your ego, it's worth the price
🔥To have diminished spiritual acuity,
🔥based on principles of false security,
🔥Heavily inclined to reverential impurity
🔥Is to go wrong, wrong, wrong, in the way of surety
🔥The prime candidate for living dead spiritually is one that's quick to spurn
🔥and not willing to from others learn,
🔥So very inept and unable to rightly discern
🔥Therefore headed towards experiencing the ultimate crash and burn
🔥That lot also falls to one who is quick to deride
🔥And certainly not interested in the fullness of truth to always abide
🔥Cause of erroneous thinking that for oneself one can decide
🔥Indignant if any would turn to them and chide
🌲You can tell all the people who really get it, and are about growing and embracing real holiness, they are on the highway of old, the one trail blazed by the saints.
🌲Producing different portraits, but all using the same paints.
🌲Never abiding in the camp of those up for short cuts & who easily faints
🌲For the saints everything should point in the right direction, of pleasing Godhead
🌲With that goal in mind, there is nothing else that need be said
⭐️The straight and narrow, is not seen as a road to be less traveled because we are "just" human, but for those carrying the light within, they see it's the "in" road, the "only" road the tried and true ought to travel.
⭐️Courage and faith urges one one, only sin can be the culprit that leads to a detour, causing things to unravel
⭐️Sometimes it's growing by leaps & bounds & running hard that's so engaging. Sometimes it's just to coast, but always, always, it's to stay the course, thick or thin.
⭐️Uncompromising perseverance guarantees a win.
⭐️Glorifying the Trinity, Father, Son, & Holy Spirit
⭐️Marching as one, responding in unison to the same tune, no obstacles blocking them from hearing it.
🌲It's akin to striking a match, we try and try and try, and nothing happens. To keep trying is to one day experience the fullness of grace, a moment to utilize wisely and fuel our desire. With the mercy of God poured out in abundance, voilé, a fire is lit unto eternity.
🌲The end results are just as God would have them be.
🌲 With blinders off, one is able in God's perspective to spiritually see
🌲Let's behold the excellent role models before us, ones we can truly trust
🌲Getting to business, knowing seriousness & determination is a must
🔥Don't be of the kind prone to sadly in ignorance misunderstand
🔥Ignoring expertise of old & leaning only on info that's close at hand
🔥Instead be of the kind open to learn all that one possibly can
🔥Then solidly on two spiritual feet one will indeed safely land
🔥It's a must to pay attention to the Holy Saint's spiritual direction, to each & every detail
🔥Otherwise expect to lag behind & be embroiled in what will cause one to spiritually ail
🔥The goal is to not end up off track & from point to point continuing to spiritually derail
🔥Deliverance alone to come from God's great mercy as He rescues & valiantly bail
🔥For any inclined to inhabit self centered pastures and obstinately sow.
🔥That boils down to setting yourself up to be sadly hoodwinked by the foe,
🔥The serious put self on the shelf, and with the saints in tow,
🔥Are on the go as through their life the Holy Spirit does constantly flow
🔥It's totally up to us, we can remain a slave or choose to let God set us, then we in turn set others free
🔥God gives the graces, the utilization is on us, that's referring to you & most certainly to me
🔥May a strong desire not be to slumber & sleep, but to be wide wake & truly spiritually see
🔥Coupled with an on fire prayer life, the best will certainly become a reality

"Wandering in the Desert", by Chrissy Boerman

"I feel like I have been wandering in the desert for weeks.
Walking around hungry and thirsty. I feel lost.
The crazy part is I have this map in my hand, well it’s more of a book, that tells me exactly where to go.
This book tells me exactly where to go to get my drink of refreshing water and bread to sustain me, it gives me the precise coordinates to my destination, whichever path I choose to take.
But for some reason when I am looking at the words they are not clear, they seem fuzzy and distant. I know it’s not the book that has something wrong with it. It’s me.
I am the one preventing myself from following the path to fulfillment, joy, peace, love and … well home.
I am the reason I am still wandering alone in this desert.
Again, But why? I feel like I am in one of those lost seasons of life. I attend church, I attend BSF, I help prepare a bible study, I am in a small group, but something is missing. My relationship with Jesus is not as strong as it once was. I know it’s due to my lack of effort in our relationship. I know how to fix it, I think, but I struggle to do it.
Please tell me I am not alone in this season. That I am not the only one who knows what to do but sits idle on the sidelines waiting for the energy to pick myself up and enter the game fully again. I long to be back in the place where Jesus is my breath. Where I wake I longing to sit with him. Where I go to bed falling asleep dreaming of our day together.
That is my prayer, that is my fight song, to be with Jesus. All day everyday. In all my thoughts, in all my words, actions, plans, and schedules. I want Him to be my reason for waking each morning. Not my to do list. Will you join me in praying that each of us will relight that fire within us and be fully on fire for Jesus?"

Book.: "Grace in Every Season", by Servant of God, Catherine Doherty.
Excerpts from the chapter:
"The Silence Within""Deserts, silence, and solitudes are not necessarily places but states of mind and heart. These deserts can be found in the midst of the city, and in every day of our lives. We need only to look for them and realize our tremendous need for them.
They will be small solitudes, little deserts, tiny pools of silence, but the experience they will bring, if we are disposed to enter them, may be as exultant and as holy as all the deserts of the world, even the one God himself entered. For it is God who makes solitudes, deserts, and silences holy. MThere is no solitude without silence. True, silence is sometimes the absence of speech, but it is always the act of listening.
The mere absence of noise (which is empty of our listening to the voice of God) is not silence. A day filled with noise and voices can be a day of silence if the noises become for us the echo of the presence of God, if the voices are, for us, messages and solicitations of God. When we speak of ourselves and are filled with ourselves, we leave silence behind. When we repeat the intimate words of God that he has left within us, our silence remains intact."
